Abstract
This work reports on the physicochemical properties of a range of fillers, including synthetic fillers, natural fillers and waste materials such as cement dusts and post-fluor silicas, with reference to their modification with silane coupling agents for use in SBR, PU and PVC compounds. Various types of silane coupling agents (amino-, mercapto-, methacryloxy- and ureidosilanes) were used for surface modification. Results in terms of properties and performance of filled polymers are discussed. 43 refs.
