Abstract
Polymethylphenylsiloxane containing methacryloyl groups was synthesised by the co-hydrolysis and polycondensation of methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTS) with other silane monomers. The effect of MPTS on the synthesis, thermal properties and adhesive properties of the polymethylphenylsiloxane was investigated by FTIR spectroscopy, TGA, DTG, scanning electron microscopy and shear strength tests. The polymethylphenylsiloxane possessed the best adhesive properties when the amount of MPTS was 8 wt.%. 15 refs.
