Abstract
The synthesis of a nanocomposite of polyaniline and graphite nanosheets via in situ oxidative polymerisation of aniline with ammonium persulphate as oxidising agent in the presence of hydrochloric acid, and its characterisation by electrical conductivity, SEM and TEM, is described. The morphology and electrical properties of the nanocomposite are discussed in comparison with those obtained for composites of polyaniline with natural graphite flakes and with expanded graphite prepared by analogous methods in terms of the formation of a conducting network in the nanocomposite. 27 refs.
