Abstract
The effects of number-average molecular weight, weight-average molecular weight, and molecular weight distribution on the crystalline morphology of polypropylene were investigated by GPC (molecular weight and molecular weight distribution), XRD (crystallinity) and optical microscopy (crystalline morphology). The experimental data were subjected to statistical analysis and the results are discussed in terms of a linear relationship between the crystalline morphology parameters, crystallinity, number-average spherulite size, spherulite distribution width coefficient and the molecular weight distribution. 17 refs.
