Abstract
The thermal degradation behaviour of nanocomposites based on SBR, BR and nitrile rubber with various amounts of acrylonitrile and either sodium montmorillonite or octadecyl amine-modified sodium montmorillonite clays was investigated by thermogravimetry. The effects of the type of nanofiller, rubber polarity and filler loading on thermal degradation of the rubbers were examined and activation energies of degradation calculated using the Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method. 26 refs.
