Abstract
Novel silicon-organic polyepoxides with epoxy side groups attached to the main chain were synthesised by the hydrosilylation of dihydrosiloxanes with a diallyl ether of an epoxidised glycerol. Reaction rate constants and reaction order were determined and the effect of the structure of the monomers with terminal Si-H groups on reaction rate constants, yield and properties of the polyepoxides investigated. The polyepoxides were modified with chelates containing copper, nickel, manganese and cobalt atoms in the main chain and the modified polyepoxides characterised by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy, wide angle X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. 26 refs.
