Abstract
The fabrication by dip coating with solutions of different concentrations of the glassy polymers, ethyl cellulose, poly(vinyl alcohol) and polystyrene of composite membranes based on poly(ether sulphone) supports prepared by a phase inversion and solution casting process, and their characterisation by SEM, FTIR and gas separation performance, is described. The effects of different polymer coatings on oxygen, nitrogen and air permeability and selectivity were studied and the results are discussed. 21 refs.
