Abstract
Polyphosphazene coated MWCNT reinforced polychloroprene rubber (CR) based nanocomposites with a sulphur/accelerator vulcanisation system at 150 deg C have been processed. 0.3 weight% reinforcement imparts some good properties. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) indicates that the coated MWCNT’s are dispersed with enhanced reinforcement/rubber adhesion. Composites showed higher mechanical properties compared to the matrix. TGA thermograms show some enhancement in the thermal stability of the composites as compared to the polychloroprene matrix. 4 Refs.
