Abstract
For the present study, blends of ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer (EPDM) rubber with a thermoplastic polyolefin namely high-density polyethylene (HDPE) were prepared by dynamic vulcanisation. The physicomechanical tests, IR spectra (recorded by attenuated total reflection technique) and ageing behaviour of the binary blends were investigated, analyzing the effect of the rubber/thermoplastics ratio, the kind of reticulating agent and the percent of plasticiser on the properties of the prepared polymer blends. 23 Refs.
