Abstract
Chitosan (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 wt%) reinforced 50/50 Bisphenol-A glycidyldimethacrylate (BisGMA)/polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) blend based composites have been processed. Their tensile strength, Young’s modulus, impact strength and hardness increase with increasing loading of chitosan, reach an optimum at 40 wt% and thereafter decrease with further increase in chitosan loading, whereas elongation at break decreases with chitosan content. Chemical resistance and ageing studies of the composites have been reported. 34 Refs.
