Abstract
Biodegradability of coir fibre reinforced epoxy composites under the effect of cow dung has been evaluated by soil burial test. Weight loss and decrease of mechanical properties with time has been observed. Biodegradation of the composites has been established by carbon dioxide evolution and by analysis of the morphology and the chemical structure of the degraded composite by scanning electron microscope and by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy respectively. 10 Refs.
