**Abstract**
 The use is discussed of organomodified siloxanes as additives for plastics for use as modifiers and process aids. The products, due to their modification, combine the efficiency of silicone oils with good compatibility with polymeric resins, and depending on the nature of the organic moiety and the overall molecular weight, organomodified siloxanes can be adapted to special applications within polymers. Functions range from performance additives, lubricants or dispersing agents, as in filled compounds, to surface modifying additives to improve characteristics such as scratch resistance. An evaluation is made of various filled and unfilled PP compounds containing representatives of such organomodified siloxanes processed via extrusion, injection and blow moulding. It was demonstrated that process parameters such as energy consumption, pressure build up and output rate on a twin-screw extrusion line could be increased, and a positive influence on surface properties obtained. 12 refs.
