**Abstract**
 The design of a molecularly imprinted polymer highly recognisable to Bisphenol A is described and the ability of polymer to discriminate Bisphenol A from its analogue, dihydroxybenzophenone, demonstrated by adsorption tests. The imprinted polymer is synthesised using Bisphenol A dimethacrylate as the polymerisable monomer and the binding framework is generated by releasing the Bisphenol A from the precursor. It is shown that adsorption by this polymer fits the Freundlich and Temkin models well but not the Langmuir model. 22 refs.
