**Abstract**
 This study reports the diffusivity, sorptivity and permeability of four aromatic hydrocarbons through crosslinked EPDM rubber membranes. Results indicate that the nature of the crosslinking system influences the transport process. Vulcanisation was carried out using four different systems: conventional, efficient, semi-efficient, and sulphurless. The influence of penetrant size on sorption behaviour of EPDM is also examined. From the diffusion data, the activation energies of diffusion and penetration, enthalpy and entropy of sorption, interaction parameter, etc. were evaluated. 21 refs.
