**Abstract**
 The effects of citric acid on the properties of glycerol-plasticised dry thermoplastic corn-starch prepared using a single-screw extruder were investigated by SEM, capillary viscometry, FTIR, tensile testing, DMTA and water absorption. The results are discussed in comparison with thermoplastic starch plasticized with glycerol and water in terms of hydrogen bonding interactions between glycerol and starch. 14 refs.
