**Abstract**
 30/70 Wood fibre/high density polyethylene (30/70 WF/HDP) composites processed with 1.5% maleic anhydride grafted polyethylene (MAPE) as compatibiliser show acceptable tensile modulus and tensile strength, comparable with that of composites processed with 3% compatibiliser. Increasing the amount of MAPE compatibiliser does not appear to improve tensile strength of the WF/ PE composites and highlights the need to optimise the amount of compatibiliser for efficient wood/polyethylene composites. 8 Refs.
