**Abstract**
 Composites for antistatic applications were fabricated by impregnating polyester non-woven fabrics with aqueous carbon black-filled poly(styrene-co-butyl acrylate) latex and the effect of the amount of carbon black on the mechanical and electrical properties of the composites investigated. Properties evaluated included tensile strength, stitch tear strength, surface hardness, percentage elongation, dielectric constant, dissipation factor and loss factor.
