**Abstract**
Evaluation of the bond behaviour of glass fibre-reinforced epoxy resin (GFRP) reinforcing bars with ribs was investigated experimentally by pull-out tests on the rebars embedded in concrete to determine an accurate bond stress-slip law and to determine failure mode by SEM analysis of the pulled-out GFRP rebars at failure. The experimental data are compared with the results of finite element simulations of specimens subject to pull-out tests and the results are discussed in terms of the effective surface deformation height and bond rigidity of the GFRP rebars. 13 refs.
