**Abstract**
The photodegradation of blends of starch and isotactic polypropylene (iPP) under natural and artificial UV irradiation were investigated by tensile strength, elongation, FTIR, TGA, DSC and XRD measurements as a function of irradiation time. The results are discussed in terms of the reduction in mechanical properties and molecular weight of iPP, and of biodegradation of waste iPP. 23 refs.
