**Abstract**
 An experimental investigation was carried out into the continuous consolidation of PP/glass fibre commingled fabric using a continuous roll forming process to determine if it was possible to obtain a quality similar to that achieved by compression moulding. Compaction trials were performed at different fabric temperatures and compaction speeds to determine the influence of these parameters on the level of consolidation. Roll forming experiments were then conducted for different combinations of roll-gap, fabric temperature and line speed and the quality of consolidation assessed by observing polished micrographs of cross-sections and determining void content and flexural properties. Composites with satisfactory quality were produced by continuous consolidation of 4 plies of 1485 g/cu.m. fabric at a rate of 0.5 m/min. 18 refs.
