**Abstract**
 Results are discussed of the use of a biodegradable additive in blown LLDPE films. The degradation additive/promoter, based on a complex mixture of natural polymers and catalysts, was converted into a 50% masterbatch in LLDPE at different levels, and the properties of the blown films derived therefrom were investigated. The films were subjected to real time degradation tests using natural soil and under vermicompost conditions.
